GROUP SHOW / LES GENS HEUREUX

Two of my A FLAG FOR EVERY HOME flags are part of a group show, Wall Hangings, at Les Gens Heureux in Copenhagen. I feel honored to be showing my work at a gallery which previously exhibited some of my favorite artists such as Guy Yanai and Matthew Feyld. And to top this, my flags are hanging next to the works of Mimi Jung, Confetti System and Clarisse Demory!! You can’t see me, but I’m dancing with joy right now ; )

What I Make

Finished and shipped off the commissioned flag to LA. I was occupied to ship it to the family as quickly as possible after finishing it, so I forgot to take any other photos than this.

I’m always a little nervous and embarrassed to sell my art pieces. And I feel the same now. I wonder how this will hang in their dream house which they’ve just moved into.

What I Make

A family commissioned me to make a flag for their home. They recently moved to their dream house, and their second baby has arrived. So they wanted a flag to hang proudly at their house to represent the family. They been patiently waiting for a few months (thank you!) for me to finish up other projects, and now I’m fully occupied making their flag. I’ve also decided to make two more flags while I’m in the process to expend the A FLAG FOR EVERY HOME series.

Here’s my last moment with Flag 04 before he got shipped off to a new home in NY. Good bye and be well.

A FLAG FOR EVERY HOME / OFF IT GOES

Diary, What I Make

Just came back from a post office, sending off this guy. His name is Flag 06 from the ‘A FLAG FOR EVERY HOME’ series. This project is special for me in many ways. This project got me to start this blog, because I wanted to share the back story of this project and the making process. In fact, it was one of my very first blog posts. Also, this project gave me the encouragement and the confidence to begin AMATEURS site with Mattie.

One of the flags is now on its way to its permanent home, and again, I have mixed feelings about this, alike the feelings I shared with you in my previous post. Mostly grateful and excited, but a little nervous. Hence I folded and refolded the flag about twenty plus different ways until I was satisfied ; )

I hope Flag 06 will become the emblem of the home it’s heading to as these flags are intended to be when created. Bye bye Flag 06.
