Somewhere on a gloomy day.
It became our tradition to visit Mattie’s grandma at the end of our summer tandem trip, which we also did at the end of our 10 day tandem trip last month. Even though we always visit her without calling her beforehand (because it is not always easy to foresee where we will be each day during the tandem trip), she warmly welcomes us, gives us drinks, ice creams and always proudly gives us a tour of her garden.
Mattie’s grandma lives in a small town not too far from Bordeaux. Her backyard is as big as a soccer field which once was a vineyard to make wine just for Mattie’s grandpa (I’ve been told that he never drank water, only wine). Since a few years, the vineyard is gone, but her vegetable garden is always there and flourishing. She introduces every vegetables in her garden and I pat them as I dream that one day I will also have all this in my backyard.
Grandma digging to show us her potatoes.
So strange and funny : )
Grandma happily introduced us this mixed color courgette, which grew in between the green and yellow courgettes.
Till next summer..
