Everyone’s on holiday and Paris is empty these days. Soon, everyone will return, but for now, I love Paris like this.
Today I thought to myself, when was the last time I shared mine and my friends paintings on walls?
Umm, I just checked, and it was June 29, 2017 September 30, 2017 (corrected)! So I went digging in my photo archive and found many from the past.
Here’s one. I believe this was from March 2017, so I’m more than a year late sharing this.
There’s a little backstory to this. This is the very first flower form I painted on a wall, and it is special to me. I remember feeling quite stuck around this time, and this painting sort of ‘unstuck’ me. Since this day, I continued painting more flower forms and led me to do other projects like RUE DES BELLES FEUILLES.
The flowers sure evolved since this painting, and I feel that I’m coming to the end of this chapter (or not). All in all, it is nice looking back to the beginning which brought me to where I am now.
Here are paintings of friends whom I painted with on this day.

Well, it turns out it is not a bad idea to post something a year late ; )
12 of us Moderne Jazzers – Christ, Cor21, Frida, Gsulf, Hams, Ishem 8, Matti, Noteen, Obisk, Yor81, コンタン – had a vernissage of our third exhibition together last Saturday (Nov 11) at Module in Paris. We all made a children’s toy and some sketches,コンタン made the poster above and Christ wrote the text about the exhibition. Here is a quick peek of the exhibition, but for all the details, you should go to the exhibition in person ; )

FFRRRRVUMVUMTACTAC ! !
November 11 – December 1, 2017
Open every Saturday 16h to 19h

For two days we – Alexis Poline, Mathieu Julien, Obisk and I – metro’ed to Saint Ouen, suburb of Paris, to paint the walls of Henri Groues (homeless shelter)’s communal space. From outside, you would never guess what is on the other side of the wall – a cosy enclosed hang out space with flowers and a vegetable garden. I hope we gave a little more color and happiness to the space : )

To continue with our game, this time Soir sent us a sketch. Some played the game, some didn’t, but nevertheless it was a nice day with some out-of-town friends who were visiting Paris.

<OBISK 93> is the latest zine by Obisk from Éditions Peinture. This zine is in a very unusual format – analogue photo prints in a pocket as if you developed your film from a photo studio. Before digital cameras came along, graffiti writers documented their short lived paintings on streets by taking analogue photos. Now digital cameras replaced those film cameras, though some graffiti writers still continue to archive their works by taking analogue photos. Obisk is one of them, and Éditions Peinture asked him to make a zine in this format. As a lover of analogue photos and a fan of Obisk’s graffiti, I find this zine golden. The bonus is that it comes with a folded poster with Obisk’s original tag.

With the guys in Moderne Jazz, we began a game – one makes a sketch, and the rest of the crew paint using the sketch : )
Torpen visited Paris one day, and he left us a sketch before he left. So we went off with the sketch and painted it. I lost his original sketch, but maybe you can imagine it by looking at what we did with it.

Here it is, the very first painting on wall of 2017. It was on a sunny day in January, but oh man it was so painfully cold.

Hey you, I’ve been away from the blog. Sorry if you’ve been waiting ; )
Now that I’ve been away, there are many backed up photos and stories which I meant to share with you for a while. So I’ll start with these paintings some friends and I did some time ago. I’m guessing some time last year? Not sure..
